Why did you pick that name?
I chose R2 because Star Wars is one the greatest creations since the dawn of mankind, and I chose R2-Beat-You because R2-D2 is such a key player in the movies but get very little attention.

I chose 1829 as my number because all though there are no sure records, Geronimo was born that year. Geronimo is my hero and represents the heart of a culture that was massacred throughout the 19th century and raped of their rights in the 19th century. Geronimo fought for his freedom and the freedom of his people. He took a strong stance against what he knew was wrong and proved to be not only a great medicine man but great leader and warrior. I strongly believe his death marked the death of the Native American Culture. It is because of Geronimo that I decided to study History and preserve my own Mexican Culture. Geronimo has helped shape the ideas and beliefs I hold today, and because of that I chose to honor him by taking his birthyear as my derby number.

I joined derby to challenge myself and meet new people.

I have several goals for next year. First to dramatically improve my skating and be able to skate as well as the vets on the team. I would also like to gain a deeper and more detailed understanding of the Game which im sure comes with time as well as study and practice. After I have reached those Goals, my ultimate goal would be to play Jammer. I would also love to get to know the other girls on the team that I have not had the opportunity to get to know on a deeper level.  A non derby related goal is to stay on track with school and finish my Bachelors in History by mid 2012.

Whats the best advise you would give to someone who wants to join derby or what was the best advises given to you?

Go for it and give it your best! Best advice any one has given me? Bend your knees!
